EZ Gel Overview
EZ Gel is a biostimulatory dermal filler derived from a patient's own blood, often incorporating Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF). It utilizes the natural healing and regenerative properties of blood components, such as plasma and growth factors, to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin. This treatment is popular for its natural approach and compatibility with the body, minimising the risk of allergic reactions or adverse effects.
Procedure
The procedure begins with a consultation where the practitioner assesses suitability and discusses goals with the patient. Blood is then drawn from the patient, similar to a routine blood test. This blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and growth factors from other components, including Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF).
The separated plasma, enriched with PRF, is then heated to form a gel-like substance, creating the EZ Gel. The gel is injected into the targeted areas using fine needles or cannulas. The entire procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the areas treated.
Treatment Areas
- Marionette Lines: Lines running from the corners of the mouth down towards the chin.
- Nasolabial Folds: Deep lines running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Downtime
- Minimal Downtime: Most patients experience minimal downtime and can resume normal activities shortly after the procedure.
- Possible Side Effects: Mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites, typically resolving within a few days.
Pre-Care
- Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and other blood thinners at least a week before the procedure to reduce the risk of bruising.

- Sun Protection: Protect treated areas from direct sunlight. Use sunscreen if necessary.
- Ice Packs: Apply ice packs to the treated areas to minimise swelling and discomfort.
- Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or massaging the treated areas to avoid displacement of the gel.
- Follow-Up: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor the results and address any concerns.
Results
- Immediate Effects: Some immediate improvement may be visible, but full results develop over a few weeks as collagen production is stimulated.
- Longevity: Results can last several months to over a year, depending on individual factors and treatment area.
Considerations
- Individual Variability: Results may vary based on individual skin characteristics and overall health.
